Amy E. Purcell, Ph.D. joins VIVICAR Law, PLLC, and establishes Intellectual Property practice group

VIVICAR Law, PLLC announces Amy E. Purcell, Ph.D., has become a Member of the firm and founded its Intellectual Property practice group. Dr. Purcell comes to VIVICAR Law, PLLC after a decade of practice at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP, in its Washington, DC and Reston, VA offices. While at Finnegan, Dr. Purcell was active in several major patent infringement litigations. Dr. Purcell defended challenges to pharmaceutical patents under the Hatch-Waxman Act, including patents on Eli Lilly and Company's Zyprexa® and Evista® pharmaceuticals. Dr. Purcell also has experience working in-house at Human Genome Sciences, where she was involved in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the areas of pharmaceuticals and antibody technology.
